Both the students and I have been learning Te-Reol Maori in our classroom. As i am new to New Zealand I am unfamiliar with the langguage and thought what better way to learn it than with the children. We have been practising simple greetings and letting each other know how we fee. below is alittle video of us calling the roll.

Since implementing the new activites I have seen a great improvement in the children's oral language. They are improving in their questioning and answering. they are talking a lot more with each orther and becoming more confident to 'have a go.'
I must admit I was reluctant at first to implement new activites into an already packed curriculum and daily routine but some only take a few moments and once implemented neither myself or the children noticed any difference. I will continue with the activites but I am always trying to think of new ideas, this keeps the children engaged and 'on their toes'. It will be a continual worlk in progress for the benfit of my learners. |
