During term 3 we will be having 3 fun and exciting topics. Our first topic will be 'Keeping ourselves safe'
run in conjunction with Rotorua Police and our school liaison officer Constable Neil. The aim of this topic is to allow our children to identify the good things about being themselves, verbalise their feelings confidently and report times when they feel safe and unsafe.
Our next topic is 'Flying without an engine.' We want the children to plan, design and modify an object that flies, to give to Ben the Helicopter Pilot as a thank you for showing us the Westpac Rescue Helicopter The children were captivated by the Westpac Rescue Helicopter visit and we posed the question to them ‘How does the helicopter fly?’ We want the children to develop something through the technological process that will fly using wind power. And our final topic will be 'Grimm's Fairy tales',. The children will re-tell a chosen tale through the visual arts, We want our children to explore experiences, stories, abstract concepts, social issues and needs both individually and collaboratively..
